Astralis out of Major; last spot in Europe is open

For the third time in a row, the four-time Major champion organization, Astralis, will be left out of the main Counter-Strike tournament. That isn't the only punch to it... it will be the first in CS2 and in Denmark. With this, the host country will only have ECSTATIC as a representative team at PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen. This Saturday the last place in Europe will be decided between GamerLegion, 9 Pandas and Guild Eagles. The Major runs from March 18th to 31st and will have a total prize pool of US$1.25 million.

Once again, CS fans won't see Nicolai "device" at a Major. The Dane is a four-time champion with Astralis and this Friday, the org lost against the Russians from 9 Pandas. Astralis has four players who were among the Top 20 best HLTV players in 2023: Martin "stavn" (9), Jakob "jabbi" (15), device (11) and Benjamin "blameF" (16). The quintet lost 13-11 at Overpass and 13-8 at Nuke.

Guild Eagles, David Beckham's organization, eliminated the Russians from BetBoom by 2-0. The Kosovar team was the underdog at IEM Major Rio, in 2022, and eliminated Finn "karrigan's" team from the event when they played for the Bad News Eagles. Against BetBoom, they won at Overpass by 13 to 4 and at Ancient by 13 to 10.

Finally, the last team to survive (at least for now) in the Last Chance Qualifier was GamerLegion, who eliminated fnatic 2-0, with scores of 16-14 on Vertigo and 13-7 on Ancient.

Saturday matches:

Guild Eagles x GamerLegion 9 Pandas x vencedor de Guild Eagle/GamerLegion
