The weekend couldn't have been better for Ferrari's Spanish driver, Carlos Sainz. In Singapore, he took pole on Saturday and this Sunday he maintained the lead from start to finish, setting the pace with great intelligence and strategy. Lando Norris came second at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Lewis Hamilton took third place after seeing his teammate, George Russell, crash on the final lap.
Lance Stroll missed the race, after opting out following a heavy crash on Saturday. Valtteri Bottas, Yuki Tsunoda and birthday boy Esteban Ocon were the other drivers who did not finish the race.
Liam Lawson, who knocked Max Verstappen out of Q3 on Saturday, finished in 9th place and secured two points. The New Zealander was called up to replace Daniel Riccardo, who fractured his hand.
The two-time champion and championship leader, Max Verstappen came out in 11th place and finished 5th.
