LoL: Worlds 2023 has Knockout stage set with 21 Koreans

The final stage of Worlds 2023, the main League of Legends tournament, is approaching and with only one non-Asian team in the playoffs. LEC had four spots at the event and was unable to advance with any team. The eight teams that moved past the Swiss Stage are: Gen.G, JD Gaming, LNG, NRG, T1, Bilibili, KT Rolster and Weibo. The quarterfinals start on November 2nd and the grand final will be on the 19th.

The Koreans will be dominant at their home soil, with 21 players advancing spread across seven teams. The only team without a South Korean player is Chinese team Bilibili. In fact, the LPL (Chinese championship) has their four representative teams advancing, while the LCK lost Dplus this Sunday in the match against KT Rolster.

While the Koreans dominate in terms of number of representatives, China is close behind with 15 players. The four non-Asian players are from NRG, with three Americans and one Australian.

The quarterfinals and semis matches move cities, leaving Seoul and going to Busan, at Sajik Arena. The two cities are 320km apart. The grand final will return to the South Korean capital.

This weeks schedule is as follows:

Quarter finals:

02/11 - NRG x Weibo

03/11 - Gen.G x Bilibili

04/11 - JD Gaming x KT Rolster

05/11 - LNG x T1
