Worlds 2023: Faker is 4x champion as T1 takes trophy

After 40 days of tournament, Worlds 2023 came to an end with T1 lifting another trophy, the fourth for Korean Lee "Faker", the greatest player in League of Legends history. The final in Seoul, South Korea, was between Weibo Gaming, from China, and T1, with the home team winning 3-0 this Sunday. Choi "Zeus" was chosen MVP.

The tournament started on October 10th and T1 only debuted on October 19th. The Koreans lost a match against Gen G. in the best-of-one series. After that they only lost one game against JD Gaming, in the semis, when they won 3-1.


Against Weibo Gaming, T1 ran over in Game 1, taking down 10 towers and with 13k more gold. The game ended in 30 minutes with 6 kills from Oner's Lee Sin. Then Weibo managed just one kill in Game 2 and again T1 had the upper hand in almost 30 minutes. Finally, with 19 kills to 5, the Korean quintet secured the title in 25 minutes.

T1 was champion in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2023. In addition to Faker and Choi, the champion team also has Moon "Oner", Lee "Gumayusi" and Ryu "Keria".
